An electronics engineer and an MBA graduate from INSEAD, he bought an SME manufacturer of standard cable in Montmirail in the Marne region in the early 1980s. To escape the competitor, he decided to move up the range. He continues to apply this simple principle in his company. He promoted it to SMEs in the Grand Est region when he was president of the Grand Est region competitiveness cluster. This principle was taken up in the 2012 Gallois report on the re-industrialisation of France. Vice-president of FIEEC, Federation of Electrical and Electronic Industries, he created the Applied Research Prize, which rewards researchers who help SMEs to move up the range. He is a member of the Academy of Technologies, where he participated in the 2009 report on telemedicine. Convinced that the good health of employees increases the competitiveness of companies, he has been organizing conferences on “Occupational Health 4.0” at the Châlons Fair for the past 10 years. From September 2019, he wants to test the 1.3 million private sector employees in the Grand Est region to detect early if they have pathologies without symptoms felt.
